Linda and Rog's bed and breakfast for walkers, skiers and general visitors to the beautiful Ariege Pyrenees region of France. Our house, built in 1780, is situated in the picturesque village of Fougax et Barrineuf in the French Pyrenees. The village is the perfect base for exploring the Cathar castles like Montségur, Puivert, Roquefixade and Peyrepertuse. It is a walkers paradise, with trails to suit every ability - from low-level nature walks, to high mountain ridges and peaks.

We have the most magnificent scenery, from lakes to mountains and from fields to chateaux in abundance and our four bedroom chambres d'hotes is ideally situated in the Cathar countryside. You can come and relax, or walk to your hearts content, we have fishing nearby and a beautiful lake or two where you can relax. We are very centrally situated for all activites for a wonderful holiday, so why not come and visit the pretty village of Belesta where there is something to do all year round. You can also Ski nearby in the winter months at picturesque Mont D'Olmes.

This former ancient mill house is situated at the junction of two of the most beautiful valleys in the Ariege – Plantaurel and Douctouye. Ideally placed for sightseeing and activities, it is central to four main towns of the Ariege – Foix, Pamiers, Lavelanet and Mirepoix. It is close to Montsegur and Roquefixade and within easy reach of Andorra and the Mediterranean coast.

In a splendid environment, the castle the Montcru is situated on an edge of 520 meter. We can offer you a comfortable and charming room. We are receiving you in an area of Mountains with many activities: visiting one of the many caves, fishing, canoeing, hiking, Para-gliding... And on the chateau you can swim in the pool, or ride one of the horses of the Montcru. Elisabeth and Robert Stoter with their two daughters will look after you in a genuine family atmosphere. We cook for you upon request: specialities of the region and if it’s possible we use our own organic vegetables from our kitchen garden and the eggs of our hens.

The guestrooms of this bed and breakfast have been renovated in traditional Ariège style; they're are in both the main house. The house is tucked in the heart of the village of Ignaux, at 1000 m altitude, allowing friendly contact between vacationers and villagers both young and old. Far from noise and pollution, you'll be able to fully appreciate the tranquility that's only disturbed by the footsteps of a few hikers climbing the numerous walking trails that cross the village, on their way to or from the nearly Orlu natural reserve

The village of Biert is in the heart of the Pyreneen mountains of South West France, in the Department of Ariège, close to the Spanish border. The Ariège, and in particular the mountain valleys of the Couserans, is relatively undeveloped, and in many ways life goes on here just as it has done for centuries. Situated at 600 metres, Biert itself is a traditional mountain village in the Arac valley, between St Girons and Massat, and offers both summer and winter activity holidays with many local places of interest to visit.
