Domaine de PlanAlvy nestles quietly in the foot hills of the Pyrenees in the high valley of the Aude in South West France some 300 mètres above sea level surrounded by forest and vineyards. Just 35 minutes from the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, an hour from the Mediterranean and Toulouse, and 90 minutes from the Pyrenees the Languedoc-Roussillon is the oldest and largest wine producing region in France. Limoux is where sparkling wine was invented - Blanquette some 130 years before champagne, and more recently Crément. This is also “Cathar country”, and scattered around the region you will find amazing Cathar castles sitting on the tops of imposing hills. Our Rooms We have four large double bedrooms with views to the fields, trees and vines. One room has a super-king bed, and three are furnished with Queen size beds. All rooms are en-suite. One of our rooms can quickly be converted to single beds if required. The rooms have high ceilings and wooden flooring so remaining cool in the long hot summers. After a hectic day walking or wine tasting or simply watching the world go by - let your weariness melt away bathed in Egyptian cotton bed linen and an extremely comfortable bed.
