A warm welcome to our large ancient Borgoise house in the traditional Charantaise style. Based in the north of the Charente with roughly equal distance to Poitiers, Limoges and Angouleme. Simply 2 minutes walk brings you to the centre of the ville of Confolens with its lovely stone paved narrow streets bordered by stunning medieval wooden houses cluttered along the banks of the river vienne. The property is an elegant town house, built about the time of the French Revolution. It was added to in the 1930's by the Town Notaire who lived here with his family for most of the 20th century. The present owners have carefully restored and refreshed the house whilst installing modern comforts and facilities. As well as breakfast, dinner is also available on request, served with style in the 18th century Dining Room. The Salon is available for guests to enjoy as is a beautiful terraced garden. The town of Barbezieux has many attractions and is an ideal centre from which to explore Charente and the nearby coast.

Our converted barn is set in the rolling countryside of South Charente, the Charente has its own Micro-climate and so enjoys some of the most reliably hot and sunny weather in France.We are situated close to the village of Yviers(10 min walk),with bar/restaurant and a 10min drive to the market town of Chalais.
