Autrefois La Modiste nestles in the heart of the picturesque village of Saint Clar, overlooking the 13th century market place. This peaceful village, boasting two bastides and situated in the Lomagne area of Gascony, is an ideal base for exploring one of the most beautiful and renowned parts of south-west France. The area is famous for such gastronomic delicacies as foie gras, garlic, melons, Armagnac, and Gascon and Madiran wines. During your stay, you will also enjoy discovering the diverse colourful landscapes and historic architectural treasures of the area. Both guest rooms are situated above the Autrefois la Modiste apartment. Guests are welcome to relax in the host’s quiet lounge and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the dining room. -Enjoy the fresh, country style of the La Pastorale guestroom (for 1 or 2 persons) with its hand-painted, decorated furniture. -The elegant, harmonious style of the very comfortable, spacious La Pompadour guestroom (for 1 or 2 persons) is enhanced by high-quality furnishings

Texte complet gite anglais : “Autrefois La Modiste” a former milliner's shop, is situated in the heart of the picturesque Gascon village of Saint Clar in Gascony (Gers) and has been lovingly transformed into an Art Deco style apartment for two where you can stay as long as you like (a night, a weekend, a week or more….). The apartment gite is reminiscent of a bygone age, but has a fully-fitted kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and microwave, a spacious living/dining room, a bedroom and a bathroom with a multijet shower. The owner, Madame Bigard, hopes that you will enjoy both your stay and her historic collection of ladies' hats displayed in the milliner's windows.

A charming bed and breakfast in the ancient, fortified village of Saint-Clar, situated at the heart of Lomagne, home to the Three Musketeers and French cooking at it's best ! Ideally located on the central square of Saint-Clar with it's covered walkways and 13th century « Halle » (covered market), La Garlande is a spacious, 18th century country house. The earthenware tiles, parquet flooring, mouldings and marble fixtures have all been beautifully conserved and marry superbly with an interior decoration inspired by the textures and colour of the Mediterranean - Morocco, Italy and Spain. Your stay here will be as simple and relaxed as the rich countryside, as warm as the unique light on old stones and fields of sunflowers which give Lomagne it's reputation as the « French Tuscany ».

Gramont is on the border of the Gers and Tarn-et-Garonne, 6 kilometers from St Clar and 14km Lectoure The old stone farm house is set in a tranquil country setting 1,2km from the centre of Gramont.

La Maison des Lys built in 1817 is in Valence sur Baïse, a bastide village dating from 1274 which is 8 km from the Armagnac market town of Condom. Four large bedrooms each with modern bathrooms provide comfortable accommodation. In summer breakfast is served in the shade of the garden's east-facing terrace built into the town's ancient ramparts. The Gers is stunning - there are delightful little towns and villages, fields full of sunflowers and vines and many tours of the wineries and Armagnac distilleries. We have numerous sports activities within a short drive as well as day and night markets, fêtes, festivals, vide-greniers, feasts and wine tastings throughout the summer.
