Laverune is a small village with a château, a museum, medieval remnants, a park and a playground, a gymnasium, tennis courts, football grounds, and equestrian centres. About five minutes walk to the countryside, bordered with vineyards…where you meet bulls, horses, pheasants, cocks, ducks and the like …to the background music of birds…or crickets! About ten minutes drive to Montpellier, a medieval town and university centre, famous for medical and agricultural institutions, yearly festivals (Printemps des comédiens, Festival de Radio France, Festival de danses, Festival de films méditerranéens…).
