9 Rue Serpente is a Maison de Maitre of classical proportions. It has large rooms with many architectural features, such as marble fireplaces, oak panelling and floors, original ceiling patterns and cornices.

The five guest bedrooms are all individually appointed with French antiques

Directions

From the N145, follow the directions to Centre Ville, and enter the Place Du Marche. Exit the Place Du Marche in the top left corner, into Rue Bertolaud, and the Rue Serpente. Numero Neuf is around the corner on the left.

This house has been restored, furnished and decorated with exceptional good taste. The house, terrace and garden are all charming and restful. The food is "good gastro-pub". An excellent and plentiful breakfast with fresh products and plenty of choice. I recommend it. One caveat: if you have wine with your dinner, expect to pay for it by the glass! This is not immediately clear. I - and others - would expect it be included.

We stayed at this establishment for two nights in February 2008. The house has been faithfully restored. The room was comfortable and warm, with a large bed made up with crisp linen bedding. The food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional. We definitely would stay again. The town is small but interesting and the countryside around is lovely for walking.
