This spacious country cottage, suitable for up to eight people, is an approved lodging with a "gite de France" 3"épis" rating. The charming stone building dates back to the 17th century and has been completely renovated. It is located in the lovely town of St. Margaret of Elle, situated between Bayeux and St. Lo. The cottage is conveniently close to the landing beaches, the Regional Park of Cotentin and Bessin, making it an ideal location for exploring the beautiful Normandy coast and the department of Manche, including the famous Bay of Veys and the iconic Mount St. Michel.

The cottage sits on a large enclosed area, providing privacy and tranquility. There are plenty of activities nearby, such as hiking, horseback riding, and cycling through the scenic groves and villages along the Vire river. For those seeking indoor entertainment, the St. Lo aquatic center, golf courses, fishing spots, and bowling alleys are all within reach. Additionally, the area boasts a rich heritage, offering many opportunities for cultural and historical exploration.

The house itself is independent and offers a comfortable stay. On the ground floor, you will find a spacious entrance, a large fully-equipped kitchen (25 m2), a cozy living room (40 m2) with sofas and armchairs, a separate dining area, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. Upstairs, there are five bedrooms, consisting of five single beds and two double beds, along with an additional bathroom and two toilets.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a dishwasher, washing machine, interior and exterior dryer, wall oven, ceramic hob, electric heating, and a stove.

Weekly rates vary depending on the season, with the high season priced at €550, mid season at €385, and low season at €290. For shorter stays, the weekend rate is €190 and the midweek rate is €240. It is also possible to rent the cottage on a monthly basis.

There are additional charges for water, electricity, and heating services from November 1 to April 30, amounting to €25 per week. From May 1 to October 31, the charge is reduced to €15. If you wish to bring a pet, there is an extra fee of €10 per week.

For added convenience, bed linen and towels can be provided for an additional fee of €10 per person. If you prefer not to clean the cottage before departure, there is an option to have the end-of-stay cleaning done for €35.

Directions

If you plan to travel by train, you can find the nearest train station, Lison station, located 3 km away. This station offers direct access to Caen, Cherbourg, and Paris.

If you prefer to travel by road from either Caen or Cherbourg, you can take the N12 and then exit at 37a. This route will lead you towards Ballymena, Saint Lo, and Cerizy Forest.
