Complete Property Description:

The farmhouse offers bed & breakfast with the option of evening meals. There are 5 bedrooms in all, including one large spacious family room with queen size bed, 2 single beds and small childs pine bed. The bedroom has private en-suite facilities with shower, double basin vanity unit and toilet. The room offers stunning views of surrounding countryside, oak beams, and tea/coffee making facilities. Additionally we have two double rooms (each with a queen size bed) and two twin-bedded rooms. All four rooms have private ensuites and tea/coffee facilities and offer stunning views. We also have a single room with private ensuite, superb views and tea/coffee facilities. All rooms have central heating. Guest are welcome to use the lounge which has satelite TV, dvd, video, and music centre. For the cooler evenings you can relax in front of the open log fire.
Breakfasts are included in the price and comprise of continental style with bread, croissants etc, home-made jams, local honey, fresh fruit, yogurts and ceral. Evening meals can be arranged with notice.
All guests can enjoy the garden and outdoor pool, petanque and childrens swings.
There are also laundry facilities available.

Attractions & Facilities

We are near the Troncais Forest renowned for being the largest oak plantation in France. Here you have many lakes ideal for swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing etc. There is also horseriding nearby and the area is excellent for walking and cycling. Locally there are tennis courts and at the nearest town Lurcy-Levis you will find all the usual amenities, ie. shops, restaurants, banks, local market etc. The area is rich in culture and history with many romanisque churches, castles, chateaux and medieval villages which hold medieval fetes and fairs. Brocantes are held throughout the summer months and there are many rural markets to visit. Other attractions are of course the volcanoes of the central massif where you will find stunning scenery, and for the more active, hot air ballooning, paragliding, absailing and white water rafting.

Directions

Coming from A71 we are about 25 minutes. Take the exit into St Amand-Montrond following the signs for Sancoins, passing through the village of Charenton-sur-Cher. As you leave the village of Bessais de Fromental you will see a sign on your right for Valigny. Follow this, passing a large lake on your left, and at Valigny take the D64 towards Lurcy-Levis. Continue for 5kms until you enter hamlet of La Platriere. Turn right at first crossroads signposted chambres d'hotes 20m - we are 2nd gate on the left.
If travelling on the N77 take the turnoff for St Pierre le Moutier, following the D978 towards Lurcy-Levis. At Lurcy follow directions for Valigny on the D64. Continue for 4kms then enter the hamlet of La Platriere, taking the left turn signposted Chambres d'hotes 20m - we are the 2nd gate on the left.
