Thomas & Catherine welcome you to our B&B in the beautiful Midi Pyrenees region of France. Our traditional old house, is situated in the picturesque village of Fougax et Barrineuf, 15 minutes from Montsegur. From here you can easily visit Cathar castles and sites, the Pyrenees, prehistoric caves, forests - there is something for everyone! The Mediterrean Sea, Andorra and Spain can also be visited as day trips. Cyclists, walkers, skiers, motorbikers, nature lovers, history buffs, children - you will all find what you are looking for.

Attractions & Facilities

We specialise in accommodation for walkers, whether you are doing one of the Grand Randonnees that pass close to Fougax, or if you would like to base yourself locally and do day walks.

The area offers a huge range of walks, from easy low-level strolls, through moderate and very scenic half-day walks, to high mountain traverses.

Directions

Fougax et Barrineuf is a picturesque village tucked up a beautiful valley which leads to Montsegur and the Gorge de la Frau.

It is just off the main Foix to Perpignan (D117), about 25 minutes from Foix, 15 minutes from Lavelanet and, going the other way, about 1 ½ hours from Perpignan. We are an hour from Carcassone and one and a half hours from Toulouse.
