Romantic and cosy French Cottage for couples in the heart of the French countryside, with wonderful views of the forest and mountains. Peaceful and calm surroundings, evening BBQ and sunsets. Small raised terrace for breakfasts or just to enjoy a glass or two of wine.
Lounge and dining area with equipped kitchen downstairs. Modern shower room with shower, washbasin and w.c.
Pretty gallery bedroom with double bed, beside tables and lamps. Bed Linen and towels for use in the gite are included in rental price. Open all year. Longer lets available for house hunters etc. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday. Key available from English owners in B & B at front of property. Also use of large B & B enclosed garden with sun loungers etc at back of property. Private off road parking. Central heating. No smoking. Well behaved dogs accepted by prior arrangement. Free WIFI access. Electricity, bedding and towels for use in the Cottage are included in the weekly rental price.

10 mins drive from large swimming lake with beach, picnic area and fishing. In Champagnac le Vieux there is a boulangerie and small local shop
Le Boucharel is surrounded by forest and countryside. Local walking maps available on loan (free of charge) Ideal for walking, cycling and nature. Birds of Prey, red squirrels, deer, wild flowers and other lovely sites in the forest. 20 mins from main town of Brioude, banks, restaurants, churches, markets, train station. Also in area many large rivers for fishing, canoe/kayak and swimming. Also indoor swimming pool. Museums, Chateaux, 3 x Beaux Villages of France, volcanoes and larger town for shopping, ice skating, cinemas etc.

Directions

New for 2011 May - September. Fly direct from Southampton to Clermont Ferrand. Then collect hire car and take the A.75 toll free motorway south from Clermont Ferrand. (direction Montpellier) Take exit no.20 signposted Le Puy en Velay and Brioude. When you get to Brioude following signs for Champagnac le Vieux. When you get to Champagnac le Vieux, go past the restaurant (Hill Billys) then turn right into the square with the Boulangerie (D56) and follow our yellow signs to Le Boucharel Chambre d'hotes. Direction of the forest. We are about 3 kms down this road, but well signposted. Le Boucharel is also the name of the small hamlet where we live and we are recommended and well known in the area now after 7 years.
