Complete Property Description:

Dating from the middle ages, La Roque-Sur-Cèze is a small stone-built village nestled on the side of a wooded hill. From the Chateau at the top, narrow cobbled streets wind down through the village, in places revealing idyllic views over the rooftops of the valley below. La Roque is recognised by the French Government as one of the most beautiful in France and in 1958 the village was added to the inventory of French historic sites. Additionally the limestone Cascades of Sautadet were classified as a 'Zone Naturelle' in 1993. You can go kayaking or riding nearby, swim in the river, take a walk for some absolute peace, or just sit in the last light of the day on one of our terraces. A small restaurant opposite us, ‘La Hulotte’, serves drinks and 'Cuisine Artisanale' which can be enjoyed on the terrace with one of the best views in the village.

La Roque is within easy reach of the Ardèche, Mont Ventoux, Avignon and the Palace du Pape, the stunning Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard, the Roman amphitheatres of Nîmes, and Orange (where operas and concerts are still performed), picturesque Uzes and its market, and the vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon, Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Further afield are the historic cities of Arles and Aix en Provence.
