Complete Property Description:

Situated in the countryside near Jugon les Lacs, La Croix Julo is a 19th century Breton farmhouse now converted to become a very comfortable "Chambres d'Hôte". There are 4 twin-bedded rooms with exposed beams and scenic views, all with private shower and toilet. The comfortable lounge with an oak ceiling and the old stone fireplace, has games and books for guests. In the dining room, with granite arch and stone wall, a continental breakfast is served. French windows overlook the patio and the view beyond.

Outside there is a large, colourful, organic garden with panoramic views, ponds and sitting areas for sun and shade. Our garden teems with small bird life. Sparrowhawks and buzzards visit, and one is now in residence. Ancient trees and the orchard offer a change of scene. Some of our guests go no further!

St. Igneuc, our village, a 5-minute stroll away, has a bar and a small shop. There is an excellent Routiers restaurant about a 10 minute walk away. Jugon, "Petite cité de caractère" has banks, 4 restaurants, bars and beautiful old buildings, and is 30 minutes walk down a leafy lane or 5 minutes in the car.

We offer peace and tranquillity yet we are easy to find, and within reach of many of Brittany's main attractions.
Locally, in Jugon and Lamballe, during the summer months there are free weekly concerts often featuring Breton music. Then there are Jugon's lakes, both with fishing and walks around them, and plentiful bird life. Bring the binoculars! On the southern lake, by Jugon, it is also possible to hire a catamaran, canoe or pedalo. Mountain bikes are also available for hire and there is a new open-air swimming pool. The Northern lake is less developed and a haven for birds and other wildlife.
Forest walks or bike rides, menhirs, a ruined château, the Haras national horse stud and much more are all close by.
Further afield, Dinan is an easy 20-minute drive and the North coast is 30 minutes through the countryside. St. Malo and Mont Saint Michel are less than an hour by car. With fluent French, we can make any bookings and enquiries that you might need.
