Theresa & James welcome you to Les Petites Charmilles, Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a traditional style Périgourdine house set in beautiful and peaceful wooded grounds on the edge of the village of Ste. Nathalène in the heart of the Périgord Noir countryside. We offer friendly comfortable and good value holiday accommodation to our guests. Each of our four rooms (2 double, 2 twin) has its own shower and wc, and looks over the gardens. Guests have their own entrance, free use of the swimming pool, the picnic facilities, the barbecue and a refrigerator.
French style breakfast is served in the garden (weather permitting) and includes croissants, home made marmalade and tea or coffee. You can book an evening meal, with a taste of India, served in the garden as the sun sets. We like you to feel at home, to enjoy a relaxing or active holiday as you wish.
Les Petites Charmilles is an ideal centre for your holiday in Périgord Noir. Only 10 minutes from the famous medieval town of Sarlat and surrounded by prehistoric sites, historic chateaux and “bastide” villages such as Domme dating from the Hundred Years War between France and England in the 13th and 14th centuries, all set in beautiful countryside. The spectacular valleys of the rivers Dordogne and Vezère, home to humans for over 20,000 years, provide the setting for some of France’s most famous villages, chateaux and gardens.
Follow the Dordogne upstream to Souillac and the department of Lot (also known as Quercy) to visit Martel, Gluges, Carennac, perhaps including a ride on the “Truffadou” steam train along the cliffs above the valley. Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac are close by too as is the unique red stone villaage of Collonge-la -Rouge.
The area is great for walking, cycling, pony trekking, fishing and canoeing on the rivers. Or you can relax in the sun by the pool.........
