Complete Property Description:

Val and Keith extend a warm welcome to you at our beautiful Charentaise farmhouse. We are situated in the charming, tranquil village of Nonac, surrounded by fields of golden sunflowers and the vineyards of Cognac.
We are 7 hours drive from the channel ports and 10 minutes from the N10 which makes us the perfect place for those wishing to stop over en route to destinations further south or just chill out for a few days. Life is calm and gentle here, a wonderful place to de-stress and leave all your cares behind. We have 2 charming bedrooms decorated in individual styles. The rooms are large and comfortable and have full en-suite shower rooms. The double beds are 5ft wide with good quality mattresses. Each room is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. There is a large lounge and dining room with english TV and DVD solely for the use of guests. Lovely garden with a large 12m x 6m swimming pool and stunning views over surrounding countryside. There is also enclosed parking. We will serve breakfast in the dining room or in the courtyard. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit juice, croissants and pastries, cheese and cold meats, eggs cooked to your liking, home made preserves and tea or coffee. Table d'hote is available every evening by prior arrangement and consists of a four course meal, wine and coffee. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. Dinners are planned using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

Attractions & Facilities

Angouleme - the capital of cartoons. A small picturesque city with a colourful indoor market, a restuarant quarter with 100 restaurants for alfrescoe dining in the summer.

Aubeterre - with its monolithic church, one of the beautiful villages of France.

Brossac - is the home of Etang Vallier , one of the many swimmimg lakes in this area . With its lakeside beach , snack bar , mini golf and shaded tables for picniking its a great spot for a family day out . And in the evening dine at the Quai Sud restaurant overlooking the lake.

Chalais - is a town typical of the Charente region . Set in pretty , green countryside, and rural in outlook , it comes to life on Mondays when the market sets up its myriad of stalls to sell local goods and produce . Traffic is diverted , and modern life seems suspended as inhabitants seek out the freshest fruit and vegetables , the crustiest bread and the best beef or veal from the colourful stalls.
