Le Boucharel Chambre et Table d'hotes is in a small hamlet at 850M altitude in the Natural Regional Park of the Livradois Forest in Southern Auvergne. Excellent walking and cycling country. Swimming Lake with beach, and boulangerie 10 mins drive from house, or 40 mins walk through the forest. Brioude small town with restaurants, boutiques, saturday market, farmous romanesque church, museums and train station 20 mins drive. Stay with us and relax in our large enclosed garden or undertake one of the many activities in the area. Clean modernised bedrooms, two ensuites including one larger family room. Wonderful views over forest and countryside from Guests balcony. Guests own complimentary tea/coffee area. Gites de France accreditation. OPEN ALL YEAR.
Excellent accommodation for house hunters wishing to spend time in the Auvergne and enjoy what all four seasons have to offer. WIFI access available. (free)
Also self catering gite with Meubles de Tourisme three stars classification. Ideal for 2 people. Well behaved pets accepted by prior agreement.

Walking in forest and cycling straight from front door.
Also in same hamlet - English Summer Tea Garden.

Directions

May-September 2011 Fly direct from Southampton to Clermont Ferrand. Collect your hire care and then take the A75 autoroute (no tolls) from Clermont Ferrand, travel south (towards Montpellier). Leave autoroute at exit 20 signposted Le Puy en Velay and Brioude, (N102). After about 12 kms you will see a roundabout signposted D588 La Chaise Dieu, go in this direction (you will not go as far as La Chaise Dieu). Go over the river Allier and turn left at the next roundabout D588 in the direction of Lamothe and Champagnac le Vieux. Drive to Champagnac le Vieux. As you drive through village, go past Hill Billys and turn right into a small square with a Boulangerie. Then follow the yellow signs on the D56 out of village towards the forest, for about 3 kms to Le Boucharel. Turn right at Le Boucharel and we are down the lane signposted on the right.
