The Convent of the Sisters of St Joseph was founded in 1760 approximately. In those days many people followed their religious vocation. The convent expressed an atmosphere of poverty and modesty. Yet hundreds of young women were attracted by the Convent as the sisters of St Joseph offered to teach them.

In South Ardèche, near Largentière, Joyeuse and Vallon Pont d'Arc, in the midst of calm greenery, on a 25-acres wooded estate set in the foothills of the Cevennes mountain range, in an old restored stone farmhouse (1705): 2 charming, tastefully decorated, comfortable rooms.
