Imagine a region of lakes, cows, forests and village cafes where the wild uplands and small spa towns have been largely unchanged for centuries. A region where the air is pure and clean, horizons are huge and meeting another car is a traffic jam. Le Moulin de Sansonneche can be found approximately 18km south of Aubusson, just off the D982 in the commune of GIOUX. It is situated in the valley of the Gioune river in a 12.5 acre/5 hectare mainly wooded plot of land which includes the river, ¾ km from the main road. The moulin is accessed across a small bridge spanning the river Gioune The Moulin de Sansonneche consists of the owners accomodation and 2 independent Gites, both of similar layout. The ground floor is approximately 40 m2 and has separate kitchen, dining and sitting areas. Stairs to the first floor lead to the bathroom and 3 bedrooms, each of about 10 m2. There are 2 double and one twin bedded room in each gite. Two of the bedrooms look over the front of the property towards the river.

The area is a relatively undiscovered part of France and one of the most sparsely populated It has been referred to as the Lake District of France but without the crowds! The numerous lakes, rolling hills, woodland tracks and clean air make it a perfect location for people who enjoy walking, fishing and cycling. It is a haven for bird watchers and the quiet, twisting road make it understandably popular with motorcyclists.
