Fouras, a hidden gem, offers even more to discover. It boasts three main beaches, two ports, and a pier that leads to the enchanting Ile d'Aix. As you explore the area, you will be captivated by the fortified coastline, adorned with historical landmarks such as Aix, Boyard, Enet, the Needle, Vauban, and Lupin Vazou. These landmarks mark the entrance of the Charente river and its marshes, which are protected by the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds).

We had a lovely stay. Madame Chognot was a very welcoming and kind host. Everything was clean and tidy and the breakfast was delicious with her home made juice. Characterful rooms in a peaceful location.
