Description for B&B:
La Millasserie is a 17th century stone house set on six private acres on a quiet cul de sac in the uplands above the river Dordogne, in the heart of the ancient province of the Perigord. The Perigord, the modern Department of the Dordogne, is known as the land of truffles, wine, grande cuisine, and chateaux. In addition to some of the most beautiful landscape in all France, the Perigord has the greatest number of historic sites in France outside Paris. La Millasserie offers four individual maisonettes in the guest wing, each room accommodating one or two adults. Each spacious room is 16 x 24 feet in size with private ensuite baths, and furnished with antiques collected from the region by your antiques dealer-hosts. For parties of four, two of the rooms can be opened ensuite. All rooms have private entrances, private terraces with forest views, and easy access to the pool.At La Millasserie you can begin the day with a French country breakfast, take a morning dip in the pool, and then take a walk along miles of picturesque country roads, or by car explore some of the most beautiful countryside and charming villages in all France, including Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere, Urval, Molieres, La Roque-Gageac. The restored old quarters of its larger cities, Sarlat, érigueux, and Bergerac, display a thousand years of architecture. Take a trip to the great 11th century of Chateau de Beynac or to any of the more than 1000 chateaux in the region. The region abounds in ancient castles and churches, gardens open to the public, villages that time forgot, and has a wealth of museums, cultural events, classical and popular music concerts, antiques shopping and all manner of sports. For longer jaunts make the hour’s drive to St. Emilion in the Bordeaux wine country, or to Bordeaux, one of the most beautiful cities in France.
