Three kilometers from Angouleme, west towards La Rochelle, the village of Venat is located in a meander of the Charente river. The house is the former grocery-cafe of the village, in the street leading to the church.
Description of L'épicerie de Vénat Bed & Breakfast:Its restoration has preserved the spirit of the place by amending the minimum original facilities. The added materials are ecological (hemp insulation, lime paints) and energy saver (solar boiler, wood stove).
Attractions:Bicycles are available to discover the village of Venat and its surroundings. Many farmhouse porches, fountains and wash houses were preserved and reflect the intense activity of wineries and market gardens during the past century. At the end of the village, a beautiful chestnut planted alley leads to the Château de la Pouyade and Ecurie de la Forêt.
