Welcome to Les Amandiers, our luxury villa with pool and a self-contained B & B wing. Situated in the ancient 'circulade' artists' village of Cailhau, Les Amandiers has stunning views over the vineyards and fields of sunflowers towards the Pyrenees and Andorra. We are only 15 minutes from the lovely market town of Limoux and the Canal du Midi and 25 minutes from the famous medieval city of Carcassonne.

Description of Les Amandiers Bed & Breakfast:

Les Amandiers Bed & Breakfast has its own guest entrance. There is a large guest air-conditioned sitting/dining room with fridge and complimentary mineral water . Patio doors take you onto the south facing terrace and pool/garden, with panoramic views over the vineyards to the Pyrenees. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor, are non-smoking and have en-suite shower, washbasin and toilet.
Beds can be arranged as either superking or twin with Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels.
There are tea and coffee making facilities in each room, English/French TV and hairdryer.
The rooms have individual locks.

Have a look at these websites for a glimpse of what it can offer. www.audetourisme.com The nearest town is the charming market town of Limoux, famous for it's sparkling wine 'Blanquette de Limoux' (under 15 minutes).The medieval city of Carcassonne, the largest fortified city in Europe, is a must if coming to this area. Kate Mosse’s bestsellers 'Labyrinth' and 'Sepulchre' have brought many more to discover the beauty of this city and the region. During July and August there is the Carcassonne festival featuring international acts performing in the outdoor theatre in the cité, The region is the largest producer of wine in France but emphasis has recently changed towards quality and 'bio' wines. We have 39 domaines locally in the Côtes de la Malepère AOC offering tours and tastings and we are only a few minutes from the ‘Vinécole’ wine school at Domaine Gayda. Limoux is famous for its ‘Blanquette’, the oldest sparkling wine in the world and its 3 month carnival. Visit the Sieur d’Arques winery in the town for a tour and, of course, a ‘dégustation’. We can arrange full day tours with 'Vin en Vacances' which includes transport. The Cathars were a religious group who emerged in Europe during the eleventh century. Catharism spread during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Crusades were launched against the Cathars with their genocide concluding in the late fourteenth century. There are many castles and sites within easy reach of our B&B. Less than 30 minutes away you will find the site of Rennes-le-Château. You are in 'Da Vinci Code' Country – home of the best-seller ‘Holy Blood, Holy Grail’. Visit the place that holds Abbé Saunière's secrets and you are sure to find the history of this small village fascinating. There are many opportunities for outdoor activities. Walking is a very popular pastime with a number of guided walks in the immediate area, ranging in time and difficulty, including Grande Randonnées. The area has many cycling routes, again ranging in difficulty (routes are marked). There are several trails around our village. You could take a leisurely bike ride along the Canal du Midi. We can arrange for cycle hire. If you enjoy horse-riding, there is a riding stable close by. The area towards Quillan is also known for its excellent white water rafting and canoeing Relax at the nearby spa towns of Alet les Bains and Rennes-les-Bains with their naturally heated swimming pools and spa treatments.

From Toulouse (Airport)
Follow directions for Toulouse and then
Follow directions for Montpellier onto A61
Take the exit 21 Castelnaudary and then follow signs for Castelnaudary to McDonalds roundabout. Take first exit D623 signposted ‘Limoux’
Follow this road for approx 20km.
At roundabout take 2nd exit still following Limoux signs. Continue along this road for about 7km. Ignore the first left hand Cailhau sign -width restriction). Take the left hand turn signposted Cailhau. After 1km take the right hand turn down the lane signposted ‘La Moulinasse’ (beige house on corner).

From Carcassonne(and Airport)
If exiting from motorway take exit 23 Carcassonne Ouest
At the roundabout keep following the signs to Salvaza (Carcassonne) airport. Continue straight past airport (or if exiting from airport turn right)to roundabout onto Montréal road D119 .
After approximately 12kms carry straight through Montréal (ignore Cailhau sign on left by pizza restaurant) After 2km take the left hand turn signposted Belevèze du Razès, Limoux etc. (D21)Follow for approx 5 km
At the ‘Stop’ junction turn left onto the D623.
Continue along this road for about 2.5km.( Ignore the first left hand Cailhau sign -width restriction). Take the left hand turn signposted Cailhau. After 1km take the right hand turn down the lane signposted ‘La Moulinasse’ (beige house on corner).

From Limoux
Take the turning for the D623 signposted Belevèze du Razès, Montréal, Lauraguel. Follow this road until you see the Cailhau sign on the right(at top of hill after roundabout). Turn here and after 1km take the right hand turn down the lane signposted ‘La Moulinasse’ (beige house on corner).
