An 18th century wine estate in the foothills of the Beaujolais near Lyon. Bed and breakfast in the five rooms in the chateau, or self catering duplex suites in the recently renovated coach house.
Description of Chateau de Longsard Bed & Breakfast:Close to Lyon, in the Beaujolais we have five charming bed and breakfast rooms in the chateau.
There are two on the first floor, one of which can be transformed into a suite of two bedrooms. Olivia’s room has a four poster and duck blue walls, with a bath/shower. The Beaujolais bleu has a king sized bed with a walk in shower ( no bath), and adjoining it is the yellow bedroom with 2 twin beds and a bath/shower.
Each room is about 30m² and has a marble fireplace and oak beamed ceilings.
On the second floor we have 3 bed and breakfast rooms two of which are family suites consisting of a bedroom with an adjoining sitting room. The rooms are smaller as there are two, but have an overall area as large as the rooms below These have stone fireplaces and the best views of the garden. Also on the second floor is a very romantic bedroom with a four poster bed and a clawed foot cast iron bath ( no shower).
The reception rooms of the bed and breakfast all have free wifi connection available as well as some of the bedrooms.In the coach house just behind the chateau we have built self catering apartments as duplex suites or two bedroom suites. We have kept the old walls and features and have used hand made terracotta tiles, teak wood floors and local stone for the bathrooms. Each suite has its own kitchenette, a sitting room with flat screen TV with UK satellite channels and an internet connection. These are let out for a night, a weekend or for longer stays.
Attractions:Old town of Lyon, medieval villages of Cluny, Perrouge and Oingt. Wineries and wine cellars. Horse riding and tennis in the village. For a well deserved rest take a tour of the garden.
