Description for B&B:

Casa Marta is a charming 18th-century stone building situated in the picturesque village of Pascoso, nestled within the Apuane Park in Tuscany. With its three floors spanning approximately 325 square feet each, this historic house offers a cozy and spacious living environment.

The house comprises of a well-equipped kitchen and living room area, two comfortable bedrooms, a full bathroom, a convenient powder room, and two storage pantries. While there is no lawn, there is a delightful outdoor space just outside the French doors of the downstairs bedroom, perfect for enjoying a small table, sunshade, and chairs.

With two entrances, one leading into the kitchen and pantry, and the other leading to the downstairs bedroom, Casa Marta is designed to maximize its hillside location. The house is tastefully furnished with a combination of new and antique Tuscan pieces from the 19th century. The lavish light fixtures add a touch of elegance to the ambiance. Additional amenities include a satellite television, radio, and CD player.

Although a telephone is not yet installed, guests can easily access telephone, computer, and internet facilities at our nearby office. Heating is provided through a gas central heating system, ensuring a comfortable stay during colder months. And of course, a working fireplace on the second floor adds to the cozy mountain house atmosphere, making Casa Marta a truly charming retreat.

Description for Gite

Pascoso is the perfect destination for nature enthusiasts. Its greatest asset is its breathtaking natural surroundings, making it an ideal place to visit. However, it is also conveniently located near the famous "cities of arts" in Tuscany, such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and Siena, as well as the renowned Italian beaches of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, all within a 30-mile radius. Additionally, there are numerous picturesque golf courses in the area, including Golf Alisea, Montecatini Golf Club, Club Golf Montelupo, Tirrenia Golf Club, Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club, and Golf Club Fontevivo, all easily accessible within an hour's drive.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Pascoso offers a paradise for hikers. Many of the mule paths are also suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding, with rental options available in Pascoso. Some hiking trails require a short drive to the starting point, while others can be accessed directly from your doorstep. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will find endless opportunities to explore the area.

If you enjoy fishing, a section of the Turrite Stream is reserved for this activity. While the water levels may be low, there is an abundance of trout, although they may not grow to significant sizes. In Pascoso, the only sounds you will hear are the barking of dogs and the chatter of locals, as peace and tranquility reign throughout the mountainside. The area is perfect for hiking, horseback riding (with two nearby barns offering horse rentals), and mountain biking.

Directions

To get to Pascoso, you need to first reach Lucca. If you are coming from North Italy (Milan) or South Italy (Rome), head towards Florence. Once in Florence, take the motorway towards Pisa North (Pisa Nord), without exiting the motorway that goes from Milan to Rome. After approximately 50 kilometers (35-40 miles), you will reach Lucca. Exit the motorway at either Lucca West (LUCCA OVEST) or Lucca East (LUCCA EST). In Lucca, take State Road 12 (SS 12) towards Abetone/Garfagnana. There will be several road signs indicating the direction. After about 5-6 kilometers from Lucca, you will reach Ponte a Moriano. Turn left and continue following the signs for Abetone/Garfagnana. There will be four tunnels along the way. After the fourth tunnel, turn right towards Borgo a Mozzano. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach Diecimo in about 5 minutes of driving. 200 meters after the road sign for "Diecimo," you will see a Tamoil gasoline pump on the left side of the road. Another 100 meters down the road, you must turn left following the road sign for "Pescaglia." There is only one asphalt road. Continue on this road until you reach Pescaglia (8-10 km from Diecimo), and then Pascoso (6-7 km from Pescaglia).
