Welcome to this former Cistercian Abbey nestled in the picturesque heart of France, where Saskia and Martijn have been delighting guests for over a decade. This enchanting holiday retreat boasts a historic complex encompassing 5.5 hectares of lush parkland. Guests can choose from charming guest rooms in the main building, cozy holiday apartments in the outbuildings, or experience the romance of staying in a gipsy caravan on the forest's edge.

As the sun sets, Saskia and Martijn extend a warm invitation to their guests to join them for a superb dinner at the table d'hôtes. Whether dining al fresco at a beautifully adorned long table or indoors in the Grand Salon, complete with a magnificent fireplace, an unforgettable dining experience awaits. For those with a passion for cooking, golfing, hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying the good life, special arrangements can be made to cater to your interests.

At our heart, we believe in creating an intimate and personalized atmosphere for our guests. As a small-scale venue, our focus is on providing a relaxed and welcoming environment that exudes warmth and charm.

Description for Gite

We offer 6 charming cottages, each with 2-4 bedrooms, a well-equipped bathroom featuring a washbasin, bath, and separate shower, as well as a separate toilet. The cottages also boast an open-plan kitchen complete with modern appliances such as a vitro-ceramic plate, extractor, combination microwave, large refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment, dishwasher, Senseo coffeemaker, kettle, blender, toaster, and all essential cooking utensils and crockery. Electric heating is available in all rooms for your comfort. Additionally, complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in each cottage. Please note that there is no TV available, allowing you to truly unwind and disconnect during your stay.

Outside, each cottage has a lovely terrace furnished with teak garden furniture, a parasol, and a barbecue, ensuring you can make the most of the beautiful surroundings.

Our cottages are available for weekly rentals, and we provide all necessary bedding and towels (1 set per person per week). However, please bring your own towels for use at the swimming pool. To make your arrival more convenient, we offer a starter package including coffee pads, tea, waste disposal bags, cleaning materials, and toilet paper.

Rest assured, we take care of the final clean-up on the day of your departure, so you can enjoy your last moments without any worries. We also welcome pets in our cottages, subject to prior consultation and an additional fee.

Coordinates: 01°4607.35 longitude and latitude 45°5933.10. Upon arrival, please drive up to the courtyard and park your car at the parking lot after unloading the luggage.

- If you are coming from Bourganeuf, take the D941 towards Gueret/Clermont-Ferrand. After approximately 300m outside the built-up area, take a left onto the D940A towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After around 4km on this road, you will see the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais on your right-hand side.

- If you are coming from Guéret, take the D940 towards Pontarion/Bourganeuf. After passing the Forêt domanial de Chabrières, turn right onto the D940A towards la Chapelle Taillefert. Continue on this road for about 18km, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After approximately 500m on the left, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais.

- If you are coming from Aubusson, take the D941 towards Limoges. In Pontarion, just before the river, turn right onto the D10 towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 2.5km, turn left onto the D43 towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 3km, turn left onto the D940A towards Bourganeuf. Follow this road for approximately 3km, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After about 500m on the left, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais.
