Description for B&B:

Welcome to "Au Passage du Gois" in Beauvoir-sur-Mer, a stunning destination on the Vendée coastline in the Atlantic Loire region. Experience the dream for yourself and indulge in the sun, sea, and beautiful sandy beaches that the Vendée is famous for. Located less than 400 kilometers from Cherbourg and approximately 200 kilometers north of Bordeaux, our location offers convenience and tranquility. With a microclimate that boasts the most sunshine hours in France after the Riviera, the Vendée is a perfect getaway in any season. Explore the coast and inland areas, where you'll find plenty of fascinating attractions and activities.

We offer three charming B&B rooms, including a family room and two courtyard rooms. Additionally, we have a holiday cottage that can accommodate four people, housed in a converted old sheep stable. For larger groups, our main house, built in 1810, features four bedrooms and can accommodate six to eight people, as well as a 2-3 person apartment. Within walking distance of the Passage du Gois, you'll find three restaurants, with more options available in our village just 4 kilometers away. During the summer months (May-September), we offer meals in our summer kitchen.

The Vendée boasts 240 kilometers of coastline, with 140 kilometers of beautiful sandy beaches, making it one of France's premier holiday destinations. Whether you're interested in picturesque fishing towns, stunning rock formations, or exploring the islands of Ile Noirmoutier and Ile d'Yeu, the Vendée's coast has something for everyone. Don't miss the breathtaking Passage du Gois, known for its splendid nature and abundant birdlife. Sports enthusiasts will find numerous options, including windsurfing, kite surfing, sand sailing, golfing, walking, cycling, and horseback riding. Families with children can enjoy water parks, zoos, and aquariums alongside the beaches.

The Vendée is also steeped in rich history, best experienced in the green and rolling countryside known as the Bocage. Explore museums, historical monuments, castles, and abbeys that showcase the region's fascinating past. We have all the information you need to plan your visits. For more information, visit the website of the local tourist office of the Vendée at www.vendeetourisme.com. Don't miss the incredible Puy du Fou historical amusement park, which takes you on a fantastic journey through 2000 years of history.

In addition to its coastline, the Bocage is renowned for its picturesque walking and cycling routes along lakes, rivers, and vineyards in the southern Vendée wine region. It's time to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved holiday. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Description for Gite

Introducing our newly built holiday cottage "la Bergerie," where you can enjoy a spacious and bright L-shaped living room with a pristine open kitchen. The house exudes character with its original beamed ceilings, while the rustic wooden panels on the roof add a charming touch. Inside, you'll find a separate toilet and a spacious bathroom adorned with a sparkling blue mosaic floor. The cottage features two double bedrooms, one equipped with a comfortable double box spring bed and the other with two single box spring beds. Upon request, we can provide a cot or an extra bed. Entertainment options include a TV and CD/DVD player. For a small additional fee per person, we can arrange for your beds to be made and provide towels for your convenience. However, if you prefer to bring your own bed linen and towels, that's perfectly fine as well.

Now let's turn our attention to our beach house "la Plage," designed to capture the essence of a beachside retreat. The house boasts a separate living room with doors that open into the kitchen. Behind the kitchen, you'll find a laundry room. On one side of the house, there is a master bedroom with a comfortable double bed, while on the other side, three additional bedrooms await (one large room with a double box spring bed and two singles). The house also offers a separate toilet and a bathroom featuring a spacious shower and a wash-hand basin. A cot or an extra bed can be provided upon request. Entertainment amenities include a TV and CD/DVD player. Similar to la Bergerie, we offer the option to have your bed made and provide towels for a small additional fee per person. However, if you prefer to bring your own bed linen and towels, you are more than welcome to do so.

Both houses come equipped with fully functional kitchens, complete with cookware, and we have included cookery books and magazines in multiple languages for your culinary inspiration. Expect all the modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, washing machine, and a fridge with a freezing compartment. To make your stay even more comfortable, we provide cloths, tea towels, and towels, along with a basic supply of coffee, tea, sugar, condiments, and herbs. We kindly ask that you replace any items you use before your departure. Should you need to stock up on groceries, several hypermarkets and bakeries can be found in Beauvoir-sur-Mer.

When it comes to leisure, both cottages have ample parking space for two cars. In the garden, you'll find chairs and a table where you can enjoy al fresco breakfasts. We also provide sun loungers, a parasol, and a BBQ for your relaxation and outdoor dining pleasure. Take advantage of the information we have compiled about the Vendée's attractions and our recommended walking routes based on our own experiences. If you prefer dining out, there are three restaurants within walking distance at the entrance of the Passage the Gois, or you can venture further to Beauvoir-sur-Mer, only 4 km (2 ½ miles) away, where you'll find several more dining options. We also offer special table d'hôte dinners that you are welcome to join us for. If you'd like to have your morning croissants and baguettes delivered or enjoy a complete breakfast, we are happy to arrange that as well.

Please note that prices vary depending on the season, and we offer special rates for longer stays and larger groups (up to 20 persons). It is also possible to combine multiple accommodations for larger groups. 2 NUITS AU PASSAGE DU GOIS A BEAUVOIR/MER
Review by: Gisèle DUMAS , Avr 22 2013 10:55AM
