Description:

Description for B&B:

The town of Die, situated in the Regional Park of Vercors, provides all the amenities one would expect from a sub-prefecture while maintaining its small-town charm and close proximity to nature. The town boasts numerous shops and a vibrant cultural scene.

With its picturesque Provencal character, Die features intertwined narrow streets that showcase a wealth of archaeological and religious heritage. The surrounding landscape consists of gentle hills, opening up to the flatlands of the Drôme river, which runs along the southern border of the town. The river's pristine waters and untamed banks offer opportunities for swimming, kayaking, leisurely naps, and picnics. To the north, the magnificent cliffs of Glandasse rise to an altitude of 2000 meters, hinting at the vast plateaus of Vercors. Many hiking trails begin at the Tourist Center, and professional guides are available to offer activities such as mountain climbing, via ferrata, canyoning, and educational tours on vultures and local flora.

Another delightful aspect of Die is its bustling market, held twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Here, small-scale local producers, often specializing in organic goods, sell an array of excellent products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, trout, Turkeys, lamb from Diois, gossips and ham from Square Peak, cheeses, honeys, jams, and homemade ravioli.

In the latter part of June, the town comes alive as transhumant shepherds and their flocks pass through the market, making their way to the pastures of the plateau. This annual tradition adds to the charm and vibrancy of Die.
