Description for B&B:

Located just 10 minutes east of Montpellier, the common Mauguio Carnon is a captivating melting pot of marshes, rice fields, vineyards, and woodland. The Camargue, where it is situated, has a rich history and is a land full of contrasts, blending tradition with modernity. The Petite Camargue is a diverse region, with a variety of landscapes and a unique economy shaped by activities such as salt production, reed cutting, and viticulture. It is also a place where bulls, horses, and men come together to create a single culture. Mauguio is conveniently situated between Nimes and Montpellier, with easy access to the A9 motorway, making it a gateway to the Camargue. The bull, known as "biou," holds a sacred place in this region, and the names of bulls and raseteurs are prominently featured in Camargue races. The Costières Camargue is a land of contrasts, with its mix of land and water, hills and marshes, vineyards and meadows. The Petite Camargue is a dreamlike destination, where horses, bulls, and birds capture the imagination of visitors. Mauguio, with its rich history and large Spanish community, is spread over 7500 hectares, with a significant portion occupied by the beautiful Etang de l'Or, a wetland of national importance. The area is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna and is a haven for birds. The fertile land in the region is ideal for farming, with market gardens, orchards, and vineyards occupying a substantial portion. The Carnon resort, with its barrier beach, marina, and protected dunes and beaches, is a popular summer destination for tourists. The marina offers a range of activities, extending from late spring to the end of the season. Another advantage of Mauguio is its proximity to the Montpellier-Méditerranée International Airport, allowing for easy access to modern communication networks. The flat land between the swamps and the city is often frequented by riders, with numerous stables in the area.
