Description:

Description for B&B:

Situated on the slopes of a hill with stunning views of the OGNON valley, this enchanting village is a haven for fishermen and has managed to preserve its historical charm.

In the "Bourg en haut" area, visitors can explore the castle, the church with its distinctive "clocher comtois" (Franche-Comté bell tower), and the Grammont Hospital, all of which reflect the village's medieval past. In the "Bourg en bas" area, remnants of a prosperous era can be seen, such as the mill, weaving mill, and the old railway station, while further away, the old forges and their locks add to the area's rich history.

Dating back to the late 15th century, the house is centrally located near shops and only 50 meters from the castle. However, it is nestled in the upper part of a terrace garden-park, providing guests with a picturesque view of the lower part of the village and the surrounding countryside.

Pascal and Philippe have poured their energy into restoring this house, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy pleasant moments in their company.

The thick lime-seamed stone walls keep the house cool, while the oak ceilings and carefully chosen furniture create a warm and tranquil ambiance indoors.

The house boasts a spacious drawing-room and music-room, separated from the dining room by a traditional fireplace. Guests can relax amidst two grand pianos and a Flemish harpsichord.

On the second floor, there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, all adorned with antique furnishings and tasteful decor. These rooms are located under an impressive oak frame.

The large red room is a double room with a 140 cm wide antique bed, complete with a lavatory containing a washbasin and WC.

Adjacent to the red room is the blue room, also a double room with an old 130 cm wide bed. If needed, it is possible to connect this room to the lavatory of the red room.

The yellow room is a charming single room with a 110 cm wide "boat-bed".

On the first floor, guests have access to a bathroom with a bath shower, washbasin, and WC, which is shared among the three rooms.

Guests can enjoy the drawing-room, music-room, TV lounge, fully equipped kitchen, terrace balcony, garden, and park with a swimming pool (available during the summer).

Notable attractions in the area include the church, parsonage, 18th-century town hall, Renaissance Castle, and the historic Grammont Hospital with its 18th-century pharmacy.

Guided tours of the city and the pharmacy are available, offering insights into the village's rich heritage.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are various activities to partake in, such as canoeing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, horse-riding, mountain biking, exploring castles, fishing, and swimming.
