Directions

Some important cities in the area include Carcassonne, Perpignan, and Toulouse. To reach Espéraza from Carcassonne, which is located 50 kilometers to the north, you can take a daily Ryanair flight from Stansted (near London in the UK) to Carcassonne. Cheap flights are available mid-week during the low season. At the airport, you can rent a car. By road, head south down the Aude valley on the N118, passing through Limoux and Couiza. Turn right to reach Espéraza. Alternatively, there is a rail link and a coach service available from the airport to Espéraza.

If you are coming from Perpignan, which is situated 70 kilometers to the northwest near the Spanish border, you can also take a daily Ryanair flight from Stansted to Perpignan. Cheap flights are available mid-week during the low season. Car rentals are available at the airport. By road, take the D117 west to Quillan, then the D118 northwards, and finally turn left to reach Espéraza. There is also a coach service available from Perpignan.

From Toulouse, which is approximately an hour and a half's drive from Espéraza, you can fly into its international airport served by British Airways from London Heathrow, Air France from London Gatwick, and Buzz (offering cheap mid-week flights) from London Stansted. From Toulouse, head towards Carcassonne by car, rail, or coach, and then follow the directions mentioned above to reach Espéraza.
