“Autrefois La Modiste” a former milliner's shop, is situated in the heart of the picturesque Gascon village of Saint Clar in Gascony (Gers), overlooking the 13th century market place, and has been lovingly transformed into an Art Deco style apartment for two where you can stay as long as you like (a night, a weekend, a week or more….).

This peaceful village, boasting two bastides and situated in the Lomagne area of Gascony, is an ideal base for exploring one of the most beautiful and renowned parts of south-west France.

The area is famous for such gastronomic delicacies as foie gras, garlic, melons, Armagnac, and Gascon and Madiran wines. During your stay, you will also enjoy discovering the diverse colourful landscapes and historic architectural treasures of the area.

The apartment gite is reminiscent of a bygone age, but has a fully-fitted kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and microwave, a spacious living/dining room, a bedroom and a bathroom with a multijet shower.

The owner, Madame Bigard, hopes that you will enjoy both your stay and her historic collection of ladies' hats displayed in the milliner's windows.

Both guest rooms are situated above the Autrefois la Modiste apartment.

Guests are welcome to relax in the host’s quiet lounge and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the dining room.
